Copy of You Glow Girl Booklet 2nd August 2021

“My 7 year old attended a session in the school holidays. She not only loved it but learnt about resilience, emotions, how to help others and herself and positive mindset. It was extremely worthwhile when we consider how our little ones have had to cope with lockdowns, school closures and lack of social interaction. We would love it if Syndi could expand to include a boys programme, fingers crossed! Thanks Embrace Emotional Wellness Centre ”

Inspiring and empowering workshops for girls 6 – 8 years of age.

Recognising that children aged 6-8 years have specific developmental needs, our “Little Glow Girl” workshops are designed to introduce younger girls to the concepts of Growth Mindset, Identity, and Self Esteem, Strengths, and Goal Setting.

Workshops are shorter in length and tailored activities ensure younger participants feel safe in the workshop environment. Introducing girls to these topics from a young age helps build confidence and teaches them skills that they can apply to their own lives.

Our number one goal with these workshops is to make sure they are engaging, fun, and educational. Through dance, drama, games, creative activities and more the girls will be exposed to the skills, knowledge and tools needed to build confidence and recognise their own self-worth.

Our instructors are experts in their field and have completed First Aid training, Police Clearance and Working with Children Checks.

Please note that as a registered Covid safe business our COVID-19 Plan is always in place, to enable us to operate according to Government requirements and with participant safety and health our number one priority.

  • THIS IS ME!

    Identity & Self-Esteem

This workshop encourages our young participants to really think about who they are and what makes them unique. Self-esteem is something most children struggle with at some point, and it is important that we encourage them to celebrate who they are. We live in a world obsessed with social media and this can have a negative impact on how young children perceive themselves. This workshop focuses on building confidence and empowering younger participants to love themselves unconditionally and to embrace the things that make them amazing.

  • I can do this!

Growth Mindset – We can do hard things!

This workshop empowers our young participants by teaching them the concept of a growth mindset and how to apply this to their own life. Children often feel disheartened when they don’t get something right the first time. Once they change their thinking from “I can’t do it” to “I can’t do it YET” they will feel empowered to persevere. Furthermore, they will find the confidence to overcome challenges and get better at things by not giving up when they don’t get it right the first time. As they continue to use this way of thinking they will constantly improve and grow.

  • I’ve got this!

What are my strengths? Building Confidence!

This workshop gives our young participants the opportunity to explore their own strengths and get a better idea of the different types of strengths they might have. Girls are encouraged to look at different types of strengths, such as the benefits of character strengths. Understanding our individual strengths helps promote confidence and a positive sense of well-being. Once our younger participants can see their individual strengths it empowers them to tune into these to help overcome challenges, build, and maintain relationships and solve problems.

  • I’m a great friend!

    Building healthy and positive friendships!

This topic gives girls the knowledge and skills needed to look at their own friendships and consider what ingredients make up a healthy friendship. They will develop a better understanding of what healthy relationships look like and learn important skills such as compromise, acceptance, and the ability to listen to what the other person is saying.
Learning how to make friends and maintain these friendships are an important part of growing up. We teach these concepts in a way that promotes critical thinking, open discussion, and different ways of looking at things.

“My daughter has already said she wants to attend the next holiday session and when I asked her what she would tell someone who wasn’t sure if they should attend or not, her response was “You should go because it is really fun, the teacher (Syndi) is really nice, and you get to learn lots about friendship and yourself!”
